A Baptism of Fire
Invoke the sun, barbeque and say goodbye to our smallest iconic building in appropriate ways

Group met at the Pump House and chatted over drinks while speculating on the mystery location of this picnic. People were then escorted over the road to the Canning Place Fire Station forecourt where they we met by Station Commander Colin Murphy.

The fire station is due to be demolished autumn 2006 and to celebrate this small jewel of Liverpool architecture we invited its designer to join us as we popped champagne corks and enjoyed sharing a BBQ.

As the sun set conversations turned to peoples visions of Liverpools future. What will be it
phoenix in the flames? What would we want to reduce to ash?

Peoples aspirations were written onto tissue then placed on the fire so they could turn to ash and smoke and rise into the Liverpool sky.
