Jigger - Liverpool dialect for alleyway
(Other definition) - A person who jigs up and down.

Possibly derived from;
- Chigoe, a tropical fly that burrows under the skin.
- C17 Carribean Chigo sense.

The attendees met at the Victoria Monument and were given a map to aid them in their journey of exploration in the citys Jiggers or back alleys. They set off in several groups, looking for an appropriately named jigger for a leather shop the Sanctuary stone and noticing many other small details on the way.which weaved between buildings Everyone shared their little pieces of knowledge of the areas and streets to form a fascinating, self facilitated tour.

'Its interesting when you walk through an area which you think you know so well with a specific purpose like this how you look at places differently, looking into nooks and crannies and really stretching your neck to look up high

By finding all the little details on the streets it really provoked an image of what Liverpool looked like so many years ago

I expected a guided walk but was delighted to find myself seeing all the details myself

Thanks to all those who attended.
