Previous Picnics:

Nurture - Paddle
Hilbre. Possibly the only place on Merseyside where you can experience the sort of isolation everyone knew until recently, cut off from the mainland until the tide allows you back again. Although today we also have the backup systems of lifeboats checking for advice on the internet and calling for support by mobile phone.

Nuture - Walking the Bounds
Walk the bounds of our shrinking city and discuss the maintenance and potential of our land.

Seed - Liverpool: The Garden City
'pool present an evening to celebrate local producers. It takes place in the Bluecoat's new garden, the site of the oldest vegetable plot in Liverpool.

Whether you are an agriculturalist, a local allotment holder or a dab hand on the window ledge, whether you make the policies or simply like eating the stuff, come and meet people who make a living from cultivating their own produce locally or are keen, keen gardners and independent growers.

Seed - Sustenance, Subsistence and Soil
Paddy Byrne, owner of the Everyman Bistro invited us to come and see his allotment at Midsummer. We gratefully accepted and 20 of us went along to see how someone who has been providing Liverpool with the best of organic and local food for 30 years grows his own.

Our Daily Bread
Local food production has never been as high on the agenda as it today. We invite you to consider the food chain all the way from planting to eating on a visit to Church Farm organics. We ask questions about growing food at a local level and find out how the professionals make their gardens grow.

Where the wild things are
Realising a winter of potential at the Shorefields allotments . . .

Finding Marshes, Molyneuxs and Whitfields
The search for namesakes of forgotten figures from Liverpool's past.
